The left hand corner of a flyer to a new bar in Vasant Vihar read the above statement. Says a lot about me right now. Exams finished today, at five fifteen dot. Since then, life feels vacuous. Its equivalent to feeling a little shaky even though your long journey in Rajdhani is over and you are sitting on the sofa. Five courses and twenty tutorials later, Ms Sarcar will sit down to edit her film. In the process, she has ended up with two very upset friends and many others who have taken it for granted that I will never call back. That leaves very little chitchat to do, no "Hi! How are you??"s, no "catching up after a long time." Things which fall away while on the run.

But, seriously, what will I do for the rest of the month, except for some very structured Googling? Some minor attempts at writing, and a lot of thought on where am I headed sort of themes. And of course the film. It is strange, two weeks of head down to books for my final exams for this semester, has almost rendered the film invisible, I had to read my previous posts to work up the interest and the leads which I had left, which needed to be thought through. Speaking of which, the latest update on Imtiaz watch is that I pulled up the guts to add him on Facebook, realised I would be the 5,9990th to do so, and gave up on the idea. Anyway, cant risk it looking wannabe in front of my other friends, especially the ones on the limited profile. He does send qualified versions of "Hi, How are you?"s messages, once in a while, though.

And oh, facebook is not that bad with stalking those you know enough to add on your limited.Lets just say, you get to see what they, their friends, parents, boyfriends look like. Point of Observation:people refuse to update their status from London To Calcutta in their profiles. So the reader assumes that the person is currently in London, when it is not. Why? Another point of observation: People are aiming to dress like they would for a Facebook pic.The smile, the posture worked up for the facebook pose. Why?

Speaking of dressing up, some days back, while sitting at the dhaba eating breakfast, a friend introduced the concept of layering, and of how she couldn't layer her clothes as it would make her look like a balloon, "and a multi-coloured balloon at that." Layering is when you where a tee, then something over it and something something over that, so that you have at a time black, purple, pink, and every other shade of colour on you. "Watch PS I Love You.The scene when the girl walks in, in this snowy some place, and the guy says, "I have never seen so many colours on the same woman." I got what she meant. But what interested me was the way she juxtaposed her aspiration of layering, after watching the film, to her "pear-shared body" and concluded very self-effacively, that the result would be a multi-layered balloon. I smiled.
"I would have loved to talk, but Aprajita, I am nine months pregnant. I'll look puffed up on camera, I dont know..."

"Oh! How ironic that we were filming the current generation of exiles, and you are in the process of...."

Shut up! The woman is not going to give you the interview. And that line was more an insult than a compliment. There in NOTHING ironic about having a baby!!!

And no, no body conspired for this to happen, ya, she could have told me about the pregnancy wee bit earlier, but thats alright. She didnt time it to the filming, no.

That was an excerpt of the conversation which took place in my head, while being tole that on of my key subjects is backing out.

Time for Rant 2:

Following are the assignments due next week:

Nov 10: Migration effects in China.
Nov 11: Passport system and hardening of nation states.

Nov 8,9: Shoot. Indian artist of Tibetan origin. Ya, that is also a significant minority within the minority.

Due to go to Benaras on Nov 16

Why the hell am I posting my time table, I dont know, but something about priting it out is therapuetic.
